The mission of Abbotsford School District's Comprehensive School Counseling Program is to ensure that all students will meet academic, career and personal/social goals that will lead to personal satisfaction and fulfillment while being successful in the twenty-first century global society.
We are lucky to have two counselors in our department, Lori Huther and Pete Doran.
Lori Huther has been the School Counselor for the School District of Abbotsford since 2005. She is originally from Medford and graduated from Medford High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She earned her Masters of Arts in Educational Psychology from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She had previously worked with the Hurley School District as their middle school counselor and Edgar School District as their middle/high school counselor. Her family lives in Abbotsford and her daughter is excited to be a 1st grade student at Abbotsford Elementary School this year.
Pete Doran started as a School Counselor for the School District of Abbotsford this year. He is originally from Mosinee. He graduated from Mosinee High School. He earned his Bachelors of Science-Psychology from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. He earned his Masters of Arts in Professional School Counseling from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. He lives in Mosinee. He loves sports, camping, fishing, spending time with family and friends.
